You is smart, you is kind, you is important, the character of Aibileen, played by Viola Davis, says in the film of Kathryn Stockett’s book, The Help. She is proposing to the little girl that she re-boots her brain. And I promise, daily affirmations really do work to combat the unhelpful viruses your own brains are running.
So much so, that I insist all my clients commit to doing a series of daily affirmations, which they create for themselves.
People often ask, how exactly does a daily affirmation work, and I’ve been guided by John Gray i how mine is modeled. I’m printing it out for you here. The important thing is that you adapt it to counter your own negative programming. If your software is saying ‘you’re ugly.’ be sure to include in your affirmations ‘I am gorgeous.’
